Welcome to my last birthday party. I always start out with a joke (Ben’s advice: If they laugh or like your jokes, continue).
First I wish to say what a wonderful life I’ve had, very happy. I should be happy – a brilliant husband, faithful, interesting, good looking: wonderful children, wonderful caretakers who are friends; a nice apartment, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and wonderful nieces and nephew too and friends. I want to leave the world better than when I was living.
I want especially to see a good president – Bernie Sanders – elected, one who has progressive ideas and good values and also, incidentally, is Jewish. Together he can help our country work toward a better and safer planet, with clean water and air and less disparity between rich and poor and maybe even peace between nations.
